SWINGING MADEMOISELLE LP - Cute french girls from the swinging 60s ! Published in a limited pressing of 500 copies in 1999 on Sasha Monett records and impossible to find today ! The "girls in the garage " comp for the 60s french scene... forget the bad Ultra Chicks comps, here's the creme de la creme ! Fab. 60s groovy beat / mod and psych / freakbeat selection 100% sung by girls and not a filler...MINT/MINT LISTEN TO CLIPS

"Swinging Mademoiselle #1
As far as French femmes in the `60s, Francoise Hardy may have been the most beautiful and sold the most records, but she certainly wasn't the whole story. Swinging Mademoiselle presents 16 tracks of French femininity at its finest, and although I suspect some of the charm may be lost in the translation there's nothing here that will cause you any sort of displeasure.
Stella vocalizes "L'idole des jaunes" over a fuzzed-out backing track evidently inspired by Hendrix and the Troggs, despite some basically superfluous horns; Pussy Cat purrs her delightful social commentary on "Les temps ont change"; Elsa Leroy turns the Beau Brummels "Just A Little" into an erotic pop snack; and Delphine's "Les prisons de sa majeste", with its sitars and swirling back-up vocals, adds an exotic psychedelic mood to the set.
There's also enjoyable tracks by the delectable Brian Jones-coiffed Stone, the Dylan/Antoine-styled Elsa, and the always remarkable Clothilde, whose records I am anxiously looking for.
The LP is packaged with lots of pix of these beauties plus liners in English and French. Let's have another volume.
