SYD BARRETT - 'THE MADCAP LAUGHS'
This fine & early UK 1st pressing of Syd's debut solo album albums dates from initial January 1970 release.
It is on the green EMI/Harvest label - without the EMI boxed logo: SHVL 765
Matrix numbers: SHVL 765 A-2G & SHVL 765 B-2G
Stamper codes: 1/R & 1/A
Vinyl weight: 142g
Housed in an outer-laminated 'Ernest J. Day' printed gatefold cover with original white inner-sleeve.

Bright & clean with just one or two very faint spindle trails around each unworn centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Pristine deep-gloss playing surfaces which bear just 2/3 small light scuffs on side 1 but no scratches or anything of any significance. Close inspection beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals just some light wispy paper hairlines consistent with inner.sleeve removal.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT +
This well looked-after copy has been barely played and all tracks play clean & clearly, free from any crackle or groovewear distortion. My play-check detected just a hint of low-level vinyl background between tracks and in some quieter passages but no clicks, pops or any other audible distractions.
Cover: EXCELLENT
Highly respectable clean & fully intact example which bears just slight shelf/storage wear.
The front panel is clean & retains its high-gloss laminate with just three small spine wrinkles but no 'thumbnails' or any other wear.
All corners are unbumped with slight shelfwear to the lower two, also there are a few small 'pushes' to the opening edges.
Both panels inside the gatefold are immaculate.
The rear panel is just as glossy as the front and is also free from any 'thumbnails' or scratching.
Both seams and the fully worded, but slightly squashed spine, are fully intact and undamaged.
