This is a UK original Stereo LP pressing. It has a heavyweight front laminated flipback sleeve which has a mid sized "Stereo" on the front. It has its original polythene-lined company "EMI" inner sleeve.
The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has turquoise blue & silver Columbia labels. It has 1st press BC 1259 A-2E and BC 1259 B-2 matrix numbers. A rare UK Classical LP.
Sleeve: There is some light or very mild fading to the white of the rear sleeve. There is some light or very mild rubbing wear to the corner tips, & to the sleeve opening on some areas. There is some light or very mild ringwear. There is a tick in biro ink on the rear sleeve. VG+ condition
Vinyl: Firstly, there are some small areas of minuscule deep down specks of dirt in the grooves. These cause some issues with playback. There are several minuscule specks of dirt in those areas. They can only be seen when viewed through a magnifying glass. This could be rectified by a deep down clean by a professional vinyl cleaning machine. Please see below for a more thorough playback description.
Visually the disc looks Near Excellent. There are a few light, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. Because of the deep down dirt in the grooves which cause some playback issues on both sides, I will only grade this LP, A strong VG condition. The labels are in excellent+ condition & show minimal spindle wear only. The company inner sleeve is in VG condition. There is a 10 cm seam split at the centre of one side. Otherwise, there is light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP. As stated, there is some areas of minuscule deep down dirt in the grooves on both sides. These cause some intermittent light, mild or very mild clicks on Side 1. These do not last too long. There are about 4 areas where the deep down dirt causes some intermittent clicks on Side 1. Side 2, similarly, has about 3 areas of intermittent light, mild or very mild clicks caused by deep down dirt in the grooves. Overall, Side 2 plays better.
Overall, the record play grades as VG to VG+ overall. However, the areas where grooves are clean play Excellently! Therefore, this LP would, I believe, plays Excellent to Excellent+ after a professional clean. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places.
If you have the ability to do a thorough deep down clean of the grooves of this LP, you could grab yourself a bargain! As stated, the vinyl is very nice and clean. It looks Near Excellent!
