Outer Sleeve:

Black background, featuring a gold coloured outline of what I presume to be Marc Bolan playing a guitar standing in front of a bank of amps and speakers.

I grade the outer sleeve as very good plus, as it dose have very slight edge ware to it, but no ring wear or scuffing.

Inner Sleeve:

Original inner sleeve with sepia pictures of Marc Bolan and Micky Finn.

This sleeve remains completely intact apart from signs of aging that is unavoidable due to the age of the sleeve.

Poster:

Original poster that was issued with the album at the time of it’s release on September 24th 1971.

This poster has remained with this album from the day it was purchased, and has never been hung on a wall, or used in any way.

I have taken a picture of the back of the poster to show the condition on the reverse.

The poster remains in mint condition throughout.

Vinyl:

Visually the vinyl remains in excellent plus condition and shows very little signs of play, perhaps just two or three plays from new, this was because this album was bought for Christmas for my girlfriend of the time who was a mad T Rex fan, whereas I never got into the glam rock music so when the relationship ended well before she received it for Christmas, the album was put in my collection and was never played again. until it was play graded for this sale.

The vinyl still retains that high gloss finish.

Even under very bright sunlight just one or two inner sleeve removal whispers are visible.

Play grading:

The Vinyl plays without fault.

No skips, jumps or background interference.

A lot of these albums were played to death at parties and most of the posters found there way onto many bedroom walls.

As stated the poster looks like it came of the printing press yesterday.

Just a bit about this album:

Electric Warrior is the sixth album by British rock group T Rex, and is widely considered to be one of the quintessential glam rock releases. Electric Warrior reached number thirty-two in the US; it went to number one for several weeks in the UK, becoming the biggest album of 1971. In 2003 it was ranked number 160 in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

The album contains two of T. Rex's most popular songs, "Get It On" and "Jeepster" In the United States, "Get It On"'s title was modified to "Bang a Gong (Get It On)" to distinguish it from Chases's song "Get It On," which was also released in late 1971. (The printing of the song title "Bang a Gong (Get It On)" on the back cover of original Reprise Records U.S. copies of Electric Warrior is obviously in a different typefont from the surrounding text, with the song's original title retained when printing the lyrics.) "Get It On" was T. Rex's biggest single and their only U.S. hit (#10).

Bolan, in a 1971 interview contained on the Rhino Records reissue, said of the album "I think Electric Warrior, for me, is the first album which is a statement of 1971 for us in England. I mean that's... If anyone ever wanted to know why we were big in the other part of the world, that album says it, for me."

The sleeve was designed by British art design group Hipgnosis. In the November 2001 issue of Vanity Fair American musician chose it as one of his 50 favorite album sleeves. Its iconic design would later influence the cover of the 2007 debut album by French electronic music duo Justice.

Vinyl’s and inserts will be packed separately The complete package will then be placed into a stiff card package and two stiffeners added.

I did try to photograph the matrix numbers but my camera is not posh enough to do such close up’s. sorry.

The package will be clearly marked

FRAGILE PLEASE DO NOT BEND OR DROP.

Buyers address will be put on both sides of the package and also my own address just to be safe in case, god forbid the album was lost in the post.
