"T! R! E! X!"
For auction one of the very first pressings of T. Rex's barnstorming '73 single, 'The Groover' that ever saw the light of day. This is The Groover, for me one of this legendary band's calling cards. What a groove it is. Marc as big, ballsy and churning as he ever got.
While later T.Rex promo/demo's surface fairly regularly, ones from their golden T. Rexstacy period are far more scarce. This is one such rarity and the classic red & blue labels are boldly printed with the words: Demonstration Record. Not For Sale along with the proposed release date of 1st June 1973. . Meaning that this 45 is one of the initial pressings destined to be given out to a handful of music industry insiders. This would have been such a prized possession to hear early back then.
And what a beautiful copy we have here.
The record itself is in immaculate condition, possibly unplayed, the vinyl shines bright and glossy with no scratches, scuffs or warping, The labels are bold and bright, no writing or stickers, showing no signs of the almost 50 years since it came from the pressing plant, possibly just days after Marc OK'd its release.
It is housed in the classic T.Rex red & blue branded bag which is equally immaculate, smart and barely a crease in it.
All in all, this is an absolutely first class rarity and a superb addition to any Marc library. You won't find a better copy.
