My People Were Fair and Had Sky in Their Hair... But Now They're Content to Wear Stars on Their Brows(1968) 1968 was a year of Big changes for Marc Bolan, after leaving John's Children, he began a group with Steve "Peregrin" Took on Bongos / Percussion, and Marc Bolan on Guitar and Vocals. With their first hit "Debora" (which would later re-enter the top 10 in the height of T.Rexstasy). This album, which is hammed up by thousands of Gongs and bizzare vocal effects, is the starting point of Marc's rise into pop superstardom. Features the aptly titled "Strange Orchestras", other takes such as "Child Star" appear as well. Also his first 2 singles under Tyrannosaurus Rex, "Debora" and "One inch rock".
