We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. - ...A dark gem of a record. Rich full productions set up the vibrato tenor harmonies. "I Don't Want To Hear It Anymore" is a '65 pop version of a True Confessions magazine, when the narrator overhears the neighbors ("where folks don't live so good any more / And the rooms are small") throwing shade on his girlfriend. Another reason to own this record is the cover of Dylan's "Love Minus Zero" which is the kind of thing the establishment was doing with Dylan songs in 1965. Also "My Ship Is Coming In," because it's sad that finally he's happy, and you know that it ain't going to work out anyway. This is the Walker Brothers. It isn't a toe-tapping, groovin' dance record -- it's rather with a haunted atmosphere and melencholy. Imagine some brown-tinted old photos of an uncle and aunt you barely recognize who are now elderly and divorced long ago. Where are they living now? Like, Cleveland? Who knows. That kind of bluesy awareness in the realism of life. Listen to this album while you're making a spaghetti dinner for yourself, and open a beer bottle of wine or heavy stuff ~~ you'll join the music.
The track listing for the Walker Brothers' first British album is similar to the one for their debut American LP (Introducing the Walker Brothers), except that it's missing their first single ("Pretty Girls Everywhere"/"Doin' the Jerk") and the essential "My Ship Is Coming In,"
Take It Easy is a curiously eclectic blend of different kinds of pop music popular in the mid-1960's, covering songs written by songwriters as diverse as Burt Bacharach, Bob Dylan, Marvin Gaye, and Randy Newman. The album is extremely listenable, the styles of the songs are infectious and magnetic for music loving mood-setting audiences with sweeping backing arrangements and deep, rich voiced harmonies. In some cases, this kind of production makes for a bit of melodramatic mystery underlying songs, and the harmonies work surprisingly well with Dylan's "Love Minus Zero/No Limit." Their cover of "Dancing in the Street" manages flair despite the decidedly mellow swank production. Then of course the litter of winners across both sides. - CONDITION:
- The cover: rated: near M- top copy front laminated (fragile) UK cover has the old '60s styled UK/Euro back-flaps manufacturing ... there is some age in back cover but readily acceptable (56 years...) there are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing ...
- The vinyl: Rated: M- beautiful, very clean on both sides, both MONO Philips labels are clean
