TALKING HEADS Speaking In Tongues 1983 Transparent 12” Vinyl Robert Rauschenberg
Clear vinyl LP surfaces are graded in MINT condition. Plastic casing is intact without ANY cracking or damage but is graded in EXCELLENT condition because the plastic has yellowed and one of the plastic circular collages comes free when you open the case, but isn’t damaged—it presses right back in place. Stored properly since I bought it new when it came out in 1983. This copy has been played once by me—I taped it & put it away, & listened to the tape until CDs came out. Rare, special limited edition of Talking Heads’ Speaking in Tongues, featuring the iconic Robert Rauschenberg-designed cover with all three original circular transparent collages. One tends to fall off when you open the package (as I did to photograph the vinyl). The other two hold tight! A 1983 Sire Records release (1-23771).
Limited edition of 50,000. Clear vinyl. The Grammy Award Winning packaging, designed by Robert Rauschenberg, is a transparent plastic case with artwork and credits printed on 3 12" circular transparent collages, one per primary color.
This copy still has the round transparent sticker on the plastic “case” that reads:
