Description

  • Talking Heads released their double-disc live album compilation "The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads" in March 1982 on Sire Records. The first disc captures the band in concert between 1977 and 1979. Side 1 is from a WCOZ-FM Boston live broadcast on November 17, 1977. Side 2 comes entirely from a January 17, 1979 show at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ. The inner sleeve on this copy incorrectly lists the date as the same as the Boston show. The second disc is from recordings in 1980 and 1981 and is a mix of shows at Central Park in NYC, Emerald City (formerly the Latin Casino) in Cherry Hill, NJ, and Sun Plaza Concert Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

  • This Promo copy of (2SR 3590) is from the First Pressing and is in excellent condition. The cover still has its gloss and shows only the most minor edge wear and is easily VG+. The two card stock Inner Picture Sleeves are pristine. Please see the pictures. Both discs test played cleanly and are VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound in NYC and this copy was pressed at the Capitol Records plant in Los Angeles. The Side One dead wax is etched 2SR13590-LW4* 2 and stamped ? STERLING.

  • This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 39 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
