TAMAN SHUD -Goolutionites and the Real People. The very RARE Australian OZ Psych LP. This is the Shud's classic ultra rare second LP and the highly praised environmental concept album. Goolutionites & The Real People was released in October 1970. It is generally estimated to be their best work - Ian McFarlane calls it "one of the truly great Aussie progressive rock albums" and it also distinguished the SHUD as one of the first local bands to tackle environmental issues in their songs. It is now extremely rare and one of the most collectible albums of the period. The recording quality is far superior to the almost "live in the studio" recording of Evolution (which is still a great album that I am concurrently listing), and Tim Gaze's exceptionally energetic guitar work add tremendous power and colour to the album. I am still impressed that I had the good taste as a 14 year old to buy this album. It was hard to get even then and my local record shop took ages to order it in. CONDITION: I definitely played this album many times but I also looked after it. Vinyl is in very good condition with only some atmospheric crackles in the quiet sections. Front cover has some very minor edge wear and back cover has some very feint ring wear at the top. Gatefolds are in great condition and feature a fine full size very 70s grainy image of Lindsay Bjerre (which is worth framing on its own - forgive me, I'm an art historian!), small photos of the other members of the Shud and full lyrics to the song.
