This is a TAS listed  recording. this ione is on a London  ffrr stereo Treasury series STS 15081/82. Benjamin Britten Ballet, THE PRINCE OF THE PAGODAS [OPUS57].  THE ORCHESTRA OF THE RORAL OPERA HOUSE COVENT GARDEN, BENJAMIN BRITTEN CONDUCTING. Ballet in three acts with choreography and libretto by Cranko, music by Britten, sets by John Piper, and costumes by Desmond Heeley. Premiered 1 Jan. 1957 by the Royal Ballet at Covent Garden, with Beriosova, Farron, Blair, and Leslie Edwards. A fairy-tale, which could be described as King Lear meets Beauty and the Beast, it tells of the Emperor of the Middle Kingdom and his two rival daughters, one good and one evil. Princess Rose, the good one, is banished and forced to undergo a journey through air, fire and water. In the Kingdom of the Pagodas she meets a Green Salamander who turns into a handsome prince. He then helps her and her father to regain the kingdom, which has fallen into the hands of her evil sister, Princess Epine. The music, by Benjamin Britten, was the first full-length ballet score by a British composer in the 20th century. Cranko revived it for Milan (1957) and Stuttgart (1960). Vinogradov staged a new version for the Kirov as The Enchanted Prince (1972). In 1989 Kenneth MacMillan choreographed a new version for the Royal Ballet using the Britten score. The ballet, which featured designs by Nicholas Georgiadis, was premiered on 7 Dec. 1989 with Bussell, Cope, Dowell, and Fiona Chadwick.  
       This is a near mint condition 2 LP album. The  box has 2 corner splits and a small tear on the spine. the info sheet is also missing.The records are in near mint condition,The original inner sleeves are included..  A charge of $3.40 per shipment will be made as a handling cost to help cover the cost of lp cleaning,including a new shipping carton, new poly jacket cover, new inner lp sleeve [if needed] and  msc. packing supplies, and costs to deliver to the post office [15 miles]  Unless otherwise noted records are spot played and visually graded. Each unsealed LP carefully cleaned on a new VPI HW-17F professional record cleaning machine and is carefly packed and mailed. Shipping  for LP'S will be your choice, cost by zip code or locartion and weight. I will combine auctions for reduced mailing costs.
