On offer here is a very VERY rare UNRELEASED UK ACETATE (especially in this condition!!!!) by Team Dokus. THIS TRULY IS ONE OF THE GREAT 'LOST' LATE 1960S PSYCH/PROG GROUPS AND THIS ACETATE I AM OFFERING FOR SALE HAS TO BE ONE OF THE GREATEST FINDS OF THE YEAR!!!!
BUT FIRST A LITTLE BACKGROUND ON THE GROUP. THEY ORIGINALLY RECORDED AN LP IN 1969 WHICH WAS NEVER RELEASED. ONLY 1 ORIGINAL 1969 ACETATE IS KNOWN TO EXIST OF THIS LP WHICH WAS CALLED 'TALES OF THE UNDERWORLD' (REISSUED ON TENTH PLANET RECORDS IN 1994) - BUT BACK IN 1969 THEY ALSO PLANNED TO RELEASE 1 SINGLE FROM THE LP. HOWEVER - LIKE THE LP - THE SINGLE WAS NEVER RELEASED AND THIS IS AN ACETATE OF THIS SINGLE - AND MUST BE TOTALLY UNIQUE!!!! THIS IS A GENIUNE 1969 ACETATE (WHICH STILL HAS THE DATE ON IT) AND IS AN ORIGINAL MONO PRESSING!!!! IT ALSO STILL HAS ITS ORIGINAL OUTER SLEEVE AND IS IN INCREDIBLE CONDITION!!!! THE TRACKS ON THE ACETATE ARE 'SIXTY MILLION MEGATON SUNSET' WITH THE B SIDE BEING 'TOMMORROW MAY NOT COME'. THIS WILL BE YOUR ONLY CHANCE TO OBTAIN THIS INCREDIBLY RARE PIECE OF 1960S PSYCH/PROG. The 1969 UK acetate is a VERY thick quality pressing and is incredibly well preserved. There is NO cat number - although on the ORIGINAL outer sleeve (and the sleeve is ORIGINAL - NOT a later addition) there is the number 46389 (see pictures) - so perhaps this was the Cat number allocated for the release of this record (though unfortunately I have NO information on which record company this acetate was cut for). Also on the outer sleeve it says 'Recorded 25-3-69' & 'Team Dokus 45' (see pictures)!!!! The records labels are STUNNING (see pictures) with some printed text and the tracks and group name 'hand written'. They are in STUNNING condition (see pictures) with NO stains and NO centre wear!!!! The acetate is in STUNNING condition for its age. Most of these 1960s Acetates were carelessly treated (especially ones that were unreleased) and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, NO hairlines and some general light (and I MEAN light) scuffing!!!! It is great to find that the acetate plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, and NO nasty constant crackle - apart the slightest touch on the run on groove - though this is WELL below the music and in fact almost all of BOTH tracks are COMPLETELY free from ANY noise - which is VERY rare for an acetate!!!! There is NO groovewear either and NO distortion. This MEGA RARE ACETATE must grade visually Very Good++ and the playing grade AT LEAST Very Good++++!!!! Believe me this acetate is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! This MEGA RARE Acetate also comes in its ORIGINAL plain cover!!!! The Cover is in STUNNING condition for its age with NO edge wear, NO stains and NO damage!!!! DO NOT MISS THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY TO OWN ONE OF THE RAREST ACETATES THAT WILL EVER BE OFFERED FOR SALE!!!! I CAN CONFIRM THAT THIS IS NOT THE CASE. THIS ACETATE IS TOTALLY UNIQUE IN MIX, AND THE LENGTH OF TRACKS!!!! THE MIX ON THIS ACETATE IS THE ORIGINAL MONO MIX AND TOTALLY 100% UNIQUE - EXACTLY HOW THE BAND ORIGINALLY INTENDED. THE TENTH PLANET RE-ISSUE DOES NOT FEATURE THE MONO VERSIONS ON THIS ACETATE - AND ALSO THE VERSIONS OF THESE 2 AWESOME TRACKS ARE MUCH STRONGER (AND RADICALLY DIFFERENT) THAN THE WEAKER VERSIONS ON THE RE-ISSUE!!!! THE ORIGINAL VERSIONS WERE REMIXED EXTENSIVELY FOR THE LIMITED RE-ISSUE IN 1994 - BUT THESE 2 TRACKS ARE EXACTLY HOW THE BAND INTENDED THEM AND ARE THE ORIGINAL 1969 MONO MIXES AND ARE TRULY STUNNING!!!!
