TEARS FOR FEARS "Change" 1982 Mercury UK IDEA412 WITHDRAWN SLEEVE
I've read elsewhere that this is an EXTREMELY rare TFF item. I was a buyer at an import distributor in the early '80s so was given this 12" to review by the export manager at Polygram. It was withdrawn just a week before release if I remember correctly, so of course, I kept this under wraps. Forgot about it until recently when going through the boxes of vinyl in the storage room. I might have the seven inch too. I'll have to look.
From what I've read going over the last six years of auctions listings on this item less than twenty copies of the seven and twelve are supposed to have escaped the warehouse, most just the picture sleeve. Only two previous auctions appear to have the 12" with the actual vinyl - in 2006 and 2008.
CONDITION The sleeve has been sitting in a box since 1984 - it has a little bit of shelfwear so EXCELLENT. As you can see in the photo the corners and edges are good.
The vinyl has scuffs on both sides but I just played all three tracks and heard just one tick during CHANGE on the B side. No other surface noise or skips.
Please don't ask me to end the auction early. I've decided it's not fair to the other eBay people that might be interested in an item.
