THIS IS THE EUROPEAN [Made in Germany on label] ORIGINAL PRESSING on MERCURY label. SINGLE COVER + INNER SLEEVE. The cover is in VG+ condition, normal wear BUT some discolouration/wear on/near corners and left edge on rear, mild creases on edges, surface ring-halo and hairlines on front/rear, left spine is fully readable; INNER in VG(+) condition, with creases, surface ringwear, 5cm split on bottom; for details see photos. The vinyl is in EX condition.

TEARS FOR FEARS
Tears for Fears is a hit-making duo that pairs big melodies with big subjects -- their very name is derived from Arthur Janov's primal scream therapy. Driven by catchy, infectious synth pop, their debut album, The Hurting, became a massive hit in their native England, setting the stage for international stardom with their second album, 1985's Songs from the Big Chair. On the strength of the singles "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" and "Shout," the record established the duo as one of the second-generation MTV stars' leading acts. After their third album, The Seeds of Love, Curt Smith left and Roland Orzabal continued solo. They reunited for Everybody Loves a Happy Ending (2004) and permanently for The Tipping Point (2022) and Songs for a Nervous Planet (2024).

On Elemental, Tears for Fears is Roland Orzabal, and he backs away from the cinematic production of The Seeds of Love, preferring a more direct and soulful style of pop music that appeals to both adult contemporary and adult alternative radio audiences.
