I have never come across even one other Quad 8-track copy of this classic Ted Nugent rocker from 1976.  So maybe that's just me or maybe that means this is pretty darn rare...

The opening title track begins rather amusingly, with gritty guitars riffing against each other on the two rear channels, joined moments later by Ted's double-tracked vocals alone on the front two speakers, one voice hard-panned onto each channel -- then the whole song explodes as the band jumps in.  All the songs on this tape are well-balanced and professionally mixed -- I found the interplay between instruments swirling from speaker to speaker on the song "Dog Eat Dog" particularly amusing.  And they sound like they were having fun making these recordings...

This tape carries the "Dolby System" logo on its label ("B" standard). Here is a list of the songs:

CONDITION -

I have played this 31-year old tape all the way thru and it worked VERY, VERY smoothly & sounded great!  As is extremely common in all 8-tracks, the splice threatened to break right at the point where the tape loops back to the start, where the metal sensing foil is, so as I have done with dozens of other tapes I re-attached it with loving care and it should never come loose ever again...

I have also replaced the pressure pad, so this bugger is ready-to-roll -- you should encounter no difficulties or further necessary repairs.  The case is clean and sturdy, with minor scuff marks -- even the front and back labels look pretty good and flat, with a bit of bubbling having caused a crease to run down the center of each side.

A WORD ABOUT QUAD:

If you aren't familiar with Quad tapes, you should know that you need a Quadrophonic 8-track player to hear all four channels in discrete "surround sound" -- playing it on a standard stereo 8-track player will only give you 2 of the 4 channels at a time (either the front pair or the rear pair) but this can actually yield some terrific fun interesting results if you're really familiar with a band's music, since all Quad remixes separate the various elements of the recorded tracks onto distinct channels -- so you can turn each speaker on just by itself and perhaps hear just the lead vocal or a single instrument completely isolated, or hear background elements that were totally buried in the standard stereo mix.  Quad tapes have far better separation between channels than do their vinyl counterparts.
