Description
A great black label pressing of the Word From Bird album by Teddy Charles on Atlantic (1274). The personnel also includes Art Farmer, Jimmy Raney and Charlie Mingus among others. The address on the back cover reads: "Atlantic Recording Corporation, 157 West 57 Street, New York 19, New York."
The black and silver label reads: "Atlantic Long Playing 33 1/3 Unbreakable - Atlantic Recording Corp., New York." The hand-etched matrix reads: "11475" on side 1 and "11476" on side 2. There is also a hand-etched "AT" in the trail off of both sides of the vinyl. This is a deep groove pressing.
The front cover looks great -- very clean and still quite glossy. The corners are all a bit dinged and the open edge has some light wear. The back cover has some signs of ring wear, primarily toward the top, as well as some rubbing marks. In the top right corner there is a small square-ish blemish (looks like a label was removed). About six lines of the liner notes on the back cover have been underlined in red pen.
The vinyl is VG+ (7 out of 10, looks used but not abused with a couple light scratches, mainly on side 2, as well as some sleeve marks and scuffs). This LP comes from a non-smoking home. The record you see in the picture is the record you will receive.
Shipping will be $4.00 for media mail in the U.S. I ship internationally -- but prefer that international bidders contact me first. I usually ship within 24 hours of receiving payment. I will combine shipping if you win multiple items. Also, I tend to recycle boxes, but I always make sure to pack items, particularly records, securely.
