Description

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

This is a 1ST PRESSING from the U.S.A. of THE TEEN QUEENS 1956 album released on Crown Records CLP-5022 titled "Eddie, My Love" which was pressed by A.I.I. ( American International Industries ) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This first pressing will either have a "Silver Crown" record Label or a "Colored Crown" record label as the label changed somewhere between 1956 and 1960. Being that the album has never been opened, I have no idea as to what version of label the record inside is.

The album was initally scheduled to be released on RPM records but was then cancelled and the masters ended up with Crown Records who then was just a fledgling company just getting its' feet wet in Rhythm & Blues. Crown Records had risen up out of the ashes of Modern Records who had gone belly up. The album was then later reissued in 1963 by Crown with a totally different record cover, ( it actually features a picture of The Teen Queens on the front ) a different record number and only ten songs on it.

This album, the original  1ST PRESSING, has Twelve Songs on it.

The Teen Queens (Betty And Rosie Collins) were the sisters of brother Aaron who was the lead singer of THE JACKS and THE CADETS.

This album is still SEALED in old, loose polywrap plastic. The poly wrap is very old and tattered with two small rips in it yet fully in tact meaning that in no way has the album been opened. Some wear ring exists at the top on the back of the plastic which is great as it has protected the beautiful white back of the cover from being worn. When I move the plastic up and down, the wear ring also moves up and down. So that's super.

The record cover itself is in Excellent condition with some minor wear on a small part of the bottom seam existing but all of the color of the cover still exists. No cardboard is showing in other words. I have taken every step required to keep this artifact in the shape it was found. The album is very thick and heavy. I'm sure this is because the record is so thick and heavy. I have to wonder how many unopened Teen Queen albums even exist today. Not many, if any, I would suppose.
