Telectu is a duo, interested in promoting New Music (improvised, contemporary, electronic, concrete) and have done hundreds of multimedia concerts around the world in festivals both of improvised and contemporary music.

Since 1982, the group has developed and introduced different music genres in Portugal: including art rock, minimalism, live electronics, multimedia, acoustic, concrete, and has linked linked their art to performance, video and installation.

They have worked and recorded with various exponents of contemporary improvisation, including Elliott Sharp, Chris Cutler, Jac Berrocal, Louis Sclavis, Jean Sarbib, Paul Lytton, Evan Parker, Ikue Mori, Paul Rutherford, Giancarlo Schiaffini, Carlos Zíngaro, Tim Hodgkinson, Eddie Prévost, Sunny Murray, Daniel Kientzy, Barry Altschul, Herb Robertson, John Butcher, among others.

Telectu has been in the forefront of Portuguese music and has performed in prestigious international gatherings such as in Beijing (CCTV), Paris (Pompidou Centre, Radio France), Perpignan (Centre Art Music), Moscow (Lenin Auditorium, Mali Theatre), New York (Knitting factory, Tonic), Spain (Granada, Madrid, Vigo, Barcelona), Hong Kong (Jazz Club), Macao (Casa garden), Havana (Teatro Nacionale), Romania (National Auditorium).
