Description

This classic, first pressing of the iconic album from Television was purchased by me on its initial release in the UK in 1977. It is the first issue with the ‘butterfly’ design and lyrics printed on the thick inner sleeve. It has been looked after with great care and played infrequently on the best equipment available at the time and always with high quality cartridges. As with my other albums on offer I have play graded both sides prior to submission for sale.

The quality of the music is of the highest calibre with virtually no surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages. There are no pops, clicks or scratches. The interplay between Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd is superb, ably backed by a great rhythm section. This was a ground breaking debut during the height of the punk era.

On playback I have graded both sides as EX+ but it could easily be rated as NM. The outer cover has been very well preserved with no markings or creases and very slight wear on the borders. The spine is easily readable. The inner cover is equally well preserved and I have classified both as EX+.

My intention is always to provide an honest assessment and to highlight any faults or shortcomings to ensure any potential buyer is assured of a genuine purchase. In the case of Marquee Moon I am satisfied that the album is in excellent condition for its 47 year history.

All my albums are shipped correctly and safely by separating the disc from the outer cover. The inner sleeve has been replaced to look after the surface if the vinyl.
