Description

SIBELIUS

VIOLIN CONCERTO IN D MINOR, OP. 47

EMIL TELMANYI, violin

MERCURY MG10131 (Original Mono)

This scarce and highly sought after recording features a superb performance of the Sibelius violin concerto by the legendary Hungarian violinist Emil TELMANYI (1890-1988). Telmanyi was known for his invention and use of the Bach bow. He was also married to the Danish composer Carl Nielsen’s daughter.

Record and jacket are in NEAR MINT condition. Early original Mercury mono’s are nearly impossible to find in NM condition! This is an exceptionally scarce violin LP especially in this condition. In 18 years of selling classical LPs this is only the 2nd copy I have offered! Don’t miss it.
