Yes, this HiFi/Stereo Review magazine release 211 has the usual balance, cartridge, hum, rumble, and flutter tests.

That said, what it will be remembered for is side 2: The first commercially released direct-to-disc recordings ever offered the listening public.

And the two selections are fine indeed. The first is PROCESSION DU VENDRETI-SAINT by Henri Tomasi, and the second is RICECAR from “Musical Offering” by Bach. (Both pieces have extraordinary instrumentation in four trumpets, three trombones, two French horns, and tuba, the PROCESSION adding tympani and percussion to the mix.)

Not to be missed, this copy has a cover with some shelf (nothing serious), the instruction book is enclosed, and the heavy platter should play near mint.
