The 3rd Party “I’m A Man” original LEMCO Custom . Amazing garage soul rock from ‘70 recorded in Lexington, Ky. Not to be confused with the band on Studio 1 from WV/VA - this is an Eastern Kentucky trio of young teenage musicians who didn’t even have a band name- just came in to record a record from Hazard, Ky and were coined 3rd Party. This is their 2nd and final single. This is an Original penned tune, not the popular Yardbirds cut- (wanting to make that clear since this label didn’t get songwriter’s credits). Soulful rural garage worker with a twangy & tuff bass thunkin’ beat and hammond organ groove. Killer twangy long guitar break and instrumental passage. The song has the opening lyrics and then takes off on this epic groove journey of bass, hammond and guitar til the end. This one will cook on the northern soul and garage DJ dancefloors. Widely unknown! The flip is a crooner ballad, not country at all just a bit of a throw away slow waltz. Certainly one of the hardest to find and best records on Lemco- would never sell if this was not my only spare. Condition is VG, there is a light barely feelable scratch that does make some light cyclical ticks at the opening stanza of the spoken opening verse. Less than 10 seconds. Once the music kicks in it plays VG+. Full gloss copy with the light clicks at intro. Still a super BOSS copy. I don’t believe this record has ever been offered on ebay or discogs. It’s very rare indeed! The opening bid is my reserve.
