Description
“The Rip”written by Alex Zytnik and Lindsay Bjerre.
“Pearl Diver”written by Alex Zytnik and Lindsay Bjerre.
Condition
Labels –Great condition – stamp on side 2 states “299-305 Bourke street MelbourneVictoria”.
Vinyl – Lotsof scuffing on both sides. Side 2 has scratches. Moreover, I could only grade this as G++.
Comes in original Astor sleeve.

It should benoted that the website “Milesago” which is generally excellent states thefollowing regarding the 4 Strangers evolution into Tamam Shud -
“The evolution of Shud was typical of many groups of the era, beginning as an instrumental band, moving through 'beat' pop and psychedelia, to progressiverock. Shud's origins lay in Newcastle instrumental band The Four Strangers --Dannie Davidson (drums), Zac Zytnic (guitar), Eric Connell (bass) and Gary Johns (guitar). They cut one well-regarded surf instrumental single "TheRip" / "Pearl Diver", for the Astor label in 1964. Johns left the band at the end of the year and was replaced by singer-guitarist Lindsay Bjerre .
This would lead a person to think that the 4 strangers single did not have any input from Bjerre. This is not corroborated by the information on the record.
