Description
THE ADVANCEMENT - Self Titled LP
Description: Excellent jazz psych LP with members of Gabor Szabo's group along with vibraphonist Lynn Blessing, drummer Colin Bailey, organist/harpsichordist/arranger Richie Thompson and others. The album benefits from being instrumental and by having some true talent especially on the fantastic Latin jazz piece "Moorish Mode". There are fuzz-rock pieces, sample fodder, and a nice melancholy jazz waltz piece "Child At Play" by Thompson (arranged for the Association). Kabok and Blessing really stand out on bass and vibes.
