Description

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE Northern Soul / Pre-Velvets MONSTER!

THE ALL NIGHT WORKERS Don't Put All Your Eggs In One Basket B/W Why Don't You Smile 1965 on Round Sound records.

One of the most amazing 45s one could ever hope for. This is truly a two-for-one deal. On the A-side you get an amazing blue-eyed Northern Soul classic. On the B-side you get to hear the blueprint of a sound that would change pop music forever just two years later.

Unlike a lot of the bands put out by Round Sound, a little stepbrother Pickwick label, The All Night Workers were not simply hired-hand session hacks - they were a real group who wrote their own songs. While obviously influenced by the Popcorn and Motown soul of their day,  they kept a unique, clean Frat/Mod/Garage feel of their own. It was during the same time they were writing and recording for Round Sound that Lou Reed had taken a job as a staff songwriter at Pickwick. While Reed has credits on several tunes from the era, this was the first time he'd ever co-written a track with John Cale. What you get on this record, apart from an insanely good uptempo Northern Soul stormer, is the FIRST EVER collaboration between Reed and Cale.

Vinyl's VG. There are several light scratches and marks that only minimally affect play. Nothing feelable. Plays a STRONG VG+, with no mistracking or skipping, and minimal surface noise.

Label looks Great, as seen in the photo, with a bit of wear, but no tears, writing or holes.

While I'm not much of a photographer, I think it's important to take clear, well-lit pictures of the records I sell. My records are graded honestly and conservatively, and I think being able to have an actual look at what you're buying is important. Don't you?

Good luck bidding and thanks for looking. Please let me know if I can answer any questions!

Please have a look at my other items for more sweet soul 45s!
