THE AMAZING BUD POWELL - BNLP5003


Deep groove, 1955 pressing 10" vinyl LP with a near mint album. Featuring Bud Powell, Fats Navarro, Max Roach, Sonny Rollins, Curly Russell, Roy Haynes, Tommy Potter


You don't find them anymore in this condition! 


ALBUM - side A MINT, side B VERY GOOD+ a couple of slight surface scratches that don't effect the play


COVER - VERY GOOD+ (no handwriting, no stamps with only slight ring wear, still gloss and bright in color)


This record was produced in 1955 by BLUE NOTE RECORDS at their first location in New York - 767 Lexington Avenue. This DOES NOT have the RVG (Rudy Van Gelder) indicating this was produced before Blue Note hired Rudy exclusively. It has the 9M etching along with hand etched id BNLP5003-a and b. These were difficult to shoot so have included many photos.


The album is still in high gloss & NEAR MINT CONDITION & plays flawlessly. Even side B with the light surface scratche                                                                                                                                                                   s. 


The original cover is considered VG+ condition. It has some slight shelf wear, but given the age of 71 years this is in remarkable condition.

A NOTE ABOUT VINTAGE RECORDS:

All 10" LP's are mono recorded and play with surface sounds. Even if they look perfect, it's highly likely they will have some background sound. 10" LP's were only produced from 1949 - 1955 in small quantities and without inner sleeves. Back then only very few people had high quality turntables, but everyone had "record players" that were not kind to record grooves. Today we have high quality turntables that will amplify all of the imperfections left by the old inferior equipment. This can also pertain to 12" records produced in the 1950s &1960s. So please, if this is something that bothers you, please consider buying a re-issue of this album or one on CD. We have play tested all the albums we are selling & tried to grade them honestly & accordingly.


This rare, highly sought and collectible record will be shipped well padded in a heavy duty custom box & will be sent via PRIORITY MAIL (NOT media mail) & will arrive in the same condition.
