This is an original copy of The Ambassadors white label promo issue of "Soul Summit" on Arctic Records. This is an incredible and rare soul record produced by the Gamble/Huff team. "Ain't Got The Love (Of Girl On My Mind)" was sampled by Pete Rock for the song "I Got A Love".
There are some light marks on the record that do not affect play. There is a slight seam split on the upper right corner, some initials on the top and light wear on the corners.
The Ambassadors were a little-known soul vocal group that recorded this album in 1969 for the short-lived Arctic label. This was their one and only album. The LP features all the Arctic singles including the in demand “Ain’t Got the Love” plus the LP only track “You Gave Me Somebody to Love.”
Many of the musicians went on to play very important roles in future Philadelphia International sessions (including Gamble and Huff themselves). The harmonies are lively, the arrangements (by Bobby Martin, who would also work with Gamble-Huff) are satisfyingly full. Philly soul fiends may consider it a lost nugget of sorts.
