Description

Welcome to the World of MacLizardking’s Music.

“Top quality product, service & packaging as standard, and all backed with strict “Record Collector” gradings. Who could ask for more?”

Here come the Christmas Listings!

Greetings vinyl lovers! The festive season is upon us and I’ve a truly wonderful mixed bag of vinyl gems to offer up for you lucky lot, from RARE, highly collectable, book valued gems, to pristine modern classics that are guaranteed to delight. I’ve stripped down my listing details, as I’ve so many to get on the bay, but be assured that both the normal top-notch service and high quality items will be on offer. Some of the details may appear a bit generic, but this is simply as they’re ALL in such amazing condition.

I grade to a VERY strict Record Collector grading system, as it’s simply not in my best interests not to! Please take it for granted that these items are precisely as detailed below, with NO clicks, skips or pops here or in ANY of my listings. However, I should also state that I only list lovely items, with all others going straight to the local charity shops.

If it says “mint”, it means “mint”!

Pre-Sale: The vinyl is very carefully inspected, played, re-housed in a brand new, high-quality paper polly-liner and the whole thing housed in a brand new thick polly-sleeve.

Post-sale: All items are re-housed in the polly-sleeve to prevent the vinyl cutting through the outer sleeve. It’s then bundled in the BEST and most CAREFULLY wrapped packaging you’ll see this or the other side of Xmas, so you receive the gem you won in the same awesome condition as when it’s SWIFTLY dispatched after payment’s cleared.

Some of these records may well be the ONLY copy being offered on the bay; some, one of dozens… the difference is that this one will not only be one of, if not the BEST, but I also do everything possible to ensure it gets to YOU both quickly and in the same superb condition!

Happy bidding, good luck and please do believe what you’re reading… including the 100%, copper-bottom, returns guarantee detailed below. I know these listings may read as superlative filled epics, but that’s simply as they are such wonderful items! I do NOT sell “shagged” records, only seriously desirable LOVELIES! Both the records and the service that surrounds them can be that good, as I really do try… just check the feedback my awesome customers have been both cool and kind-enough to leave.

Peace, love & Seasons Greetings to you all…

MacLizardking.

Introduction and MacLizardking’s Initial Review: Okay folks, “stop your grinnin’ and drop your linen!”  Here’s my utter DIAMOND of the day! This is precisely what it appears to be, namely, a pristine, FIRST PRESS 1N/1N copy of the Animals début lp, all served up in an equally gleaming, G&L Patents Pending sleeve. Awesome audio, produced from an equally awesome SLAB of vinyl. A ludicrously RARE and collectable, blues classic that went on to show the way for many, many impersonators who were to follow, but NONE could equal the sheer brilliance of Eric Burden and his Animals… Now, please read on for the full details and inspect the photos below, being both my personal description statement and accuracy of condition guarantee.

Detailed Cover & Inner-sleeve Review.

Specific cover grading: EX

Comment: As, seemingly, ever, a VERY strong EX with just the SLIGHTEST defects as listed below on this amazing Garrod & Lofthouse, Patents Pending 1st issue laminated sleeve.

Front: Miniscule stress creases to spine and a 3mm nick in the sleeve opening ALONE. All else simply breath-taking!

Back: All foldbacks tight and near perfect, light corner crease at tip of lower (in picture on left) foldback and only slight discolouration to rear panel. Light ridging to sleeve opening.

Edges & Corners: Particularly given it’s age (it’s older than me!) the corners are in perfect shape, with only (from front) the lower right corner being fuzzed and rounded and a 3mm split in the lower seam from the sleeve opening, seams otherwise perfect, Devoid of ware!

Spine: Perfect shape and fully legible.

Inner-sleeve: Original Emitex polly-liner, devoid of damage, just age discolouration and the album number (the correct one!) written in biro, now with new, high quality polly-liner.

“Record Collector Sleeve Gradings Explained;

M (Mint) : “The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition”

NM (Near Mint) : As M, but also as “Sod’s Law” occasionally dictates, with one miniscule physical flaw, that has no effect on the overall quality of the item, yet means it’s no longer “perfect”; i.e. a solitary tiny rub-mark or dink.

M- (Mint Minus) : A notch below NM, but indicating a cover that’s still in fantastic condition, though it‘s just possible to see it’s been slid carefully in and out of a collection over the years; i.e. miniscule speckled, lower edge ware, the odd tiny, tiny stress crease or utter whisper of fuzzing to extremities of the corner tips.

EX (Excellent): “The cover and packaging might have minor ware and/or creasing”

VG (Very Good) : “Normal ware and tare on the cover and extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable”

G (Good) : “The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc”.

F (Fair) : “The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced”.

P (Poor) : “The cover or contents will be badly damaged or partly missing”.

Detailed Vinyl/s & Labels Review.

Specific Vinyl grading: EX

Comment: The STRONGEST EX I’ve EVER listed, for the following reasons…

Visual: Utterly gleaming, near flawless, mirror-like vinyl. Awesome, as new sheen and a deep, deep gloss. There’s just the VERY, VERY lightest, solitary rub mark (SILENT!) on side one, and that, you lucky lot, is it!

Audio: Plays as it looks, start to finish, both sides. There’s the LIGHTEST, INFINITESIMAL whisper of left channel crackle, but that is it! This one delights, totally and utterly, start to finish, both sides, silent between tracks and simply a TOTAL delight!!!

Labels: Lightest spidery spindle marks on these KT tax stamped Columbia’s and slight spindle hole ware have “reduced” this vinyl from M- to EX.

“Record Collector Vinyl Gradings Explained;

M (Mint) : “The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.”

NM (Near Mint) : As above, but, as “Sod’s Law” occasionally dictates, with one miniscule physical flaw, as detailed above, that has no effect on the overall quality of the item, yet means it’s no longer “perfect”; i.e. a solitary spindle-mark or blush, but still aurally perfect.

M- (Mint Minus) : A truly beautiful, gleaming vinyl, that it’s just possible to spot that it’s been played before. Possibly the lightest of paper-marks on the physical or even a whisper of crackle on the play-in’s alone, but still practical perfection on the aural.

EX (Excellent) : “The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality”

VG (Very Good) : “The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch”

G (Good) : “The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches”

F (Fair) : “The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump”.

P (Poor) : “The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise etc”.

B (Bad) : “The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler”.

“Signed For Service” UK = £1.00 per package. Europe & Rest of The World = £3.50 per package.

Once dispatched, all items are the responsibility of the Buyer, though if the item was registered I will obviously assist in the tracking of any item that goes missing or is damaged.

Payment Methods:

PayPal is the primo method of choice for either UK or overseas buyers. Within the UK and as long as you can handle the wait, personal cheques or postal orders are also acceptable. For overseas buyers PayPal is again the first choice, but cash (GBP, USD or Euros) is okay, though ONLY if it is registered. Sorry, no overseas cheques, unless issued from a UK bank or building society.

Please note, these are the charges - they are non-negotiable; particularly post-auction! If you think they’re unreasonable, please, do not bid. I know what my costs and overheads are and, with all due respect to first time MacLizardking customers who have yet to enjoy the experience (read that feedback folks!), you do not!

Should things go “boink”…

The standard rules apply to refunds – i.e. if you’re not happy with the condition of the item in comparison with the description, neither am I. So, on receipt of the goods in the original packaging and in the same condition as when dispatched, a full refund will be made of your original payment.

And finally…

Whilst this may all appear slightly excessive on the detail front, I do go to great lengths to ensure the accuracy of these listings and promote “service” and “honesty” as treasured commodities as, on occasion, I have found them to be lacking in (one or two) others with which I have dealt on e-bay - But NOT here! I feel I should also add that I have been professionally involved in either the music or entertainment industry for the last 20 years and as a fan of all genre’s of music since year “dot” – in my case, the mid 60’s – what a decade, wish I was old enough to remember it!

To verify all this manic attention to detail  please do check my feedback, which I go to great lengths to keep positive and my buyers are both cool and kind enough to leave.

OVER TWO THOUSAND POSITIVE’S CAN’T BE WRONG FOLKS!!!

NO VINYL WILL EVER BE DISPATCHED FROM MY ORGANISATION IN A JIFFY BAG! IT JUST DOESN’T WORK!!!

My thanks for looking at my listing and checking out all this blurb. Hope this finds you under “blue skies” and listening to some groovy tunes on the greatest format ever!

Cheers,

Rod.
