One of the rarest UK pressed 'beat' LPs issued in 1964. This is an original first pressing on the deepgroove red Decca label. This LP was only issued in mono format. This has first press matrix numbers ARL-6464-1K and AEL-6465-1k and stampers 1, K and 1, U.

This LP is hard to find in anything like decent collectible condition so it is pleasing to offer a copy for sale which has EX vinyl. The playing surfaces have only a very few light non-audible marks best seen when viewed under bright angled light. When I played this to make a digital copy there was no background noise to remove nor any clicks to eliminate either so I am happy about the EX grade for appearance and a higher nMINT grade for the actual audio quality.

The labels are clean with no obvious signs of heavy use just a few spindle marks consistent with light use.

The inner is the original poly-lined 60's original and is EX.

The front laminated non-flipback cover was manufactured by James Upton Ltd and is the standard thin card cover which Decca used for its pop and rock output throughout the decade. These covers often suffer from even light handling let alone rough treatment so it is rare to find one that is better than EX. Therefore its no surprise that this is not mint. It however is in very decent, collectible condition. It is flat with no creases and straight edges. The corners are still sharp. There is 2 mm tear on the front opening edge and a few spine creases . The spine is straight and readable and still pinched at the ends. The unlaminated reverse is pretty decent and apart from a little fading, some handling marks, a small stamp and a 3/4 cm square surface tear has no defects. I would grade this cover overall as VG+.

I am a collector and I only sell records from my personal collection. I aim to be totally objective about the records I sell. However please note that unless the play quality is specifically mentioned records are graded visually. I aim to describe the visual appearance of all items accurately using the standards below which are based on the UK Record Collector Price Guide. The highest grade I use now is NEAR MINT ('UNPLAYED' if still sealed in shrink wrap or occasionally full MINT but only if the provenance of the item suggests this to be correct). Records graded EX+ or EX++ would probably be called 'near mint' or 'mint' by most sellers. Please READ THE ITEM DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY and study photographs to avoid disappointment later. I will refund only on items which do not conform to the description and standards set out here.

GRADING SYSTEM

NEAR MINT: The record appears to be in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and other inserts are perfect. For MINT grading see above

EXCELLENT: The item has been played and may have some light surface marks but there is very little, if any, lessening in sound quality. Cover and contents have slight wear.

VERY GOOD: The record has been played quite alot  but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Cover and contents show some wear.

GOOD:The record has been played many times and the sound quality has deteriorated noticeably. The cover and contents are often damaged

I use EX++,EX+,VG++,VG+ as subsidiary gradings. Unless the record is extremely rare I do not sell items which are less than VG in condition.
