Description
This is an outstanding record. Not only does it feature a hugely talented singer, Brenda Holloway, not only are the songs magnificent but it is in absolutely superb condition. Rarely have I found a record which is almost 40 years old in such a condition. I never grade anything as mint or near mint. My highest grading for any record is Ex++. This is Ex++. It's 'The Artistry of Brenda Holloway' by Brenda Holloway on the UK Tamla Motown label from 1968 (catalogue no. STML 11083). It's a stereo recording. There are 16 superb tracks on the album performed exquisitely by Brenda Holloway. The sleeve is a flipback laminated type. The front is almost perfect with very minor creasing which is hardly visible. The edges are in almost perfect condition and the spine shows some very minor creasing which, again, is hardly visible. The wording along the spine is 100% readable. The rear of the sleeve is as good as I've seen. The top and bottom flipbacks are compeletely undamaged and the spinal flipback shows some very minor creasing which doesn't in any way detract from the overall quality of the sleeve. There is almost no discolouration at all on the unlaminated portion of the rear and there are no marks. This is very unusual. In the top rear right hand corner it states 'File under POPULAR : Female vocal'. In the bottom rear right hand corner it states '6810 TPS Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents pending TML 11083/STML 11083'. I've graded the sleeve Ex++. The inner bag feautures black and white photos of LP covers by other Tamla Motown artists on both sides. It's been graded Ex++. The record has hardly been played. There are very spindle marks on each label. The labels are the traditional black with silver wording types. It states on each label 'SOLD IN U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS, SEE PRICE LISTS'. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - STML 11083 A-1 stampers 1 G - side two - STML 11083 B-1 stampers 1 G. The record plays absolutely superbly on both sides with almost no surface noise. I don't think this record has been played more than 10 times. I've graded the record as Ex++. I'm setting a realistic reserve price due to the rarity of this great record. All my items are fully guaranteed.
