Man, there is something very modern about the melodies of this album. It surely is emotional and melodic for a garage album, and I think that's what makes it so special. This is an album I just connected to instantly. For me the two best things about this album is the 1) consistency and the 2) originality . Of course this albums falls within the garage/psych framework, but there is something about the simplicity of the songwriting matched with the catchiness of melodies and chorus hooks that allows for the band to really express themselves successfully. I don't know much about the history of this album but I can tell these songs came from deep within the stirrings of a troubled and sensitive soul.
