You are bidding on a vintage 45 RPM 7" Vinyl Record.
The A side of the record is "The Ballad of Candy Barr" performed by George McCoy and the Balladeers.  The song was written by Johnny Hicks-Ross Forney.
The B side is "Hasta Luego" by Johnny Hicks and performed by George McCoy and the Balladeers.
The record label is Comet Records, 101 W. 55th St. New York, N. Y.
The record appears to be in lovely condition, looking rarely, if ever, played.
The sleeve is made of plain brown paper.  The sleeve has separated on the side. (See last Photo)
Candy Barr was a famous stripper/burlesque queen who started her career in Dallas, Texas, appearing at the Colony Club where she became known for her Texas-themed outfit.  She developed a casual friendship with Jack Ruby in 1952, as he operated clubs near her own.  She married in 1953 and three years later shot her husband (they were separated) when he broke down the door of her apartment. She was charged, but the case was dropped.
The record is a song about Candy Barr and about the incident where she shot her husband.
This is an unusual record about famed Texas stripper, Candy Barr.  It would be an interesting addition to any vintage record collection.
