John Jacob Niles is a concert artist, collector and arranger of American folk music and composer. Owned the largest collection of American folk music in the country.
"The Ballads Book of John Jacob Niles" was published in 1961 by Houghton Mifflin contains 65 Anglo-American ballads from oral tradition. These recordings of April 1960, include 24 of the 65. Program notes of these ballads sung by Mr. Niles are from the book.

The album cover has one small discolored area at the top of the front cover where a label had been removed else is in VG++ condition with no splits, tears or writings. The LP's are in NM condition with no scratches or marks or defects. High gloss and shine (visual inspections only). The original inner liners are in VG++ condition with no spints or tears.
