Description
NM promo of a very sought-after 1967 psych 45 "Spinning, Spinning, Spinning" b/w "Baby Please Don't Go" by THE BALLROOM on Warner Bros 7027. This is cult artist/producer CURT BOETTCHER's (the Association, Tommy Roe, Emitt Rhodes, Byrds) band with Michele O'Malley and Sandy Salisbury before he formed the Millennium (also featuring Salisbury), whose Columbia LP BEGIN HERE from 1968 is also a collector's item. "Spinning, Spinning, Spinning" was written with Ruthann Friedman and is a classic, well-anthologized bit of chamber psych-pop. The B-side Joe Williams cover "Baby Please Don't Go" is also referenced and frequently anthologized because of its spooky, mantra-like freak-out arrangement. The Ballroom did record enough material for Warner Bros. for an album (some with legendary session guitarist Mike Deasy and others), but only this 45 was ever pressed.
