The nicest thing you can do for your stylus and your ears. The ultimate record -- the way music was meant to be heard and of superior quality for any Audiophile.

You should never pass up the opportunity to upgrade your collection. They're each very limited in their pressings and disappear with extraordinary quickness from the vinyl market. This causes prices to skyrocket because once they are gone, they are gone forever! Don't second-guess yourself with this chance to upgrade your collection because before you know it, the opportunity will have passed forever.

Following on from the Band’s self-titled second release, THE BAND, it gives us great pleasure to issue their astonishing debut album MUSIC FROM THE BIG PINK (No.30 US ’68). This debut album emerged following a lengthy period of playing as Bob Dylan’s backing band (they were responsible for the much bootlegged “The Basement Tapes”), following which Robbie Robertson, Richard Manuel, Rick Danko, Garth Hudson and Levon Helm decided to go it alone as the Band.

For a debut album MUSIC FROM THE BIG PINK is an astonishingly accomplished piece of work. The first single released from the album - “The Weight” (No.21 UK, No.63 US ’68) became a hit on both sides of the Atlantic and was backed with Bob Dylan’s “I Shall Be Released” to effectively make it a great double-sider. Also on the album is a fantastic version of Dylan and Rick Danko’s “This Wheel’s On Fire”.
