Description
THE BAND THE LAST WALTZ 45th Anniversary hails from 2023 and is a SEALED 180 gram 3LP issued for Rocktober. It is the concert to end all concerts. The Last Waltz, recognized by every major music outlet as one of the most spectacular live events ever presented, is synonymous with extraordinary performances, memorable chemistry, A-list collaborations, and timeless songs. Intended as the Band's farewell, the beloved 1976 affair finally receives its sonic due on Rhino's 3LP set, mastered by Chris Bellman from the original analog tapes at Bernie Grundman Studios and pressed at RTI. This analog edition takes you inside San Francisco's Winterland Ballroom.
A Hall of Fame cast helps make The Last Waltz likely the last concert of its kind. Paul Butterfield, Muddy Waters, Pinetop Perkins, Eric Clapton, and Dr. John are among the virtuosos lending a hand on bluesier material. Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Neil Diamond, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr, and Ronnie Wood all take turns in assisting the hosts. The Band closes out the party with its own encore set. It is a truly magical affair.
