THE BATS - HOW POP CAN YOU GET?

This is a very nice original copy of the very rare powerpop LP by THE BATS. The vinyl is very clean. Side A is in excellent shape, it has a couple marks (parallel with the grooves) that look like they would be stylus wear, but they are not uniformly around the record, and may also just be some kind of pressing anomaly (?). Only one of them seems to be at all audible, and produces just 3 fuzzy sounds during playback. Side B is near mint. The cover is a laminated cardboard stock in excellent shape, just about near mint, with virtually no ring or edge wear at all. The original printed inner sleeve with lyrics is also included, it is in very good+ shape, with a bottom split seam of just over 1 inch.
Some 25 years ago in Connecticut, The Bats committed to tape a fairly convincing power-pop album called How Pop Can You Get? on the small local label, Gustav Records from New Haven. Though hardly a landmark for the genre or otherwise, The Bats romantic sentiments and period keyboard accoutrements were if anything competent, and for that matter, sometimes downright hook-laden, as evidenced by the title cut.

THE STORY OF THIS RECORD
For almost 21 years, We had a record store in Danbury, CT called TRASH AMERICAN STYLE.
In May of 2007 our landlord shafted all of us, and suddenly TRASH had no store. But our loss is your gain. Ever since May 2007, we’ve been sorting and organizing old stock and we’ve come across many many awesome records. They’d been sitting in the back room mostly untouched for DECADES. Some of these records were ordered new from labels and distributors and never bought by our customers or tucked away by lazy employees. Much of our stock also came from the customers who brought things in to sell nearly every day. After being on the sales floor for a while, we’d sometimes have to clear them out to make room for more new records. We’d stick them in the back room where they sat (and sat).
