Lovey copies of the original 1965 pressings of both The Beach Boys Today, and The Beach Boys’ Party LPs, both Capitol rainbow label pressings:
-The Beach Boys Today - Capitol Duophonic stereo DT-2269 - a few superficial marks on the disc, but actually quite clean. It plays near flawlessly and just beautifully. There are some visible lines, mainly on side one, but they are, as I say, entirely superficial and don’t make any sound. Really a nice player. The cover has some edge wear, mainly at the spine, which is fraying and splitting at the lower half. The bottom edge is also splitting about 3”, not too bad. There is light ringwear as well, but overall still quite well intact and striking.
-The Beach Boys’ Party! - Capitol mono MAS-2398 - the disc has a lot of scuffing but again it is really only superficial and actually plays quite well with barely the slightest tiny crackle to be heard at all. I had them both cleaned ultrasonically and they both play just about perfectly. Plays way better than it looks. The cover here is very nice with only light wear. A bit of a corner bump at the upper right and a very slight split beginning in the center of the bottom seam where the disc touches the edge. Not much at all. Overall just a beautiful cover. This copy has the error spelling, with the song title on the label reading “Little Deuce Coupe” and on and cover reading “Little Deuce Coup”.
Really nice copies overall, that sound wonderful.
