Up for auction is a rare, original US pressing (Capitol DT 2458) of The Beach Boys' classic album entitled PET SOUNDS from 1966. This album has the original Capitol rainbow labels without "a subsidiary of" in the perimiter. The disc is still housed in its original "Capitol '66 Sounds Great!" inner sleeve.
PET SOUNDS is one of the greatest albums of all-time. It contains all of the beautiful harmonies for which the Beach Boys are famous, and it includes lots of lush, otherworldly instrumentation. One very impressive aspect of PET SOUNDS is that although each song sounds great on its own, when taken together each song adds to a wonderful, cohesive whole. While original mono copies in nice condition now change hands for over $100 dollars, original stereo copies can still be found fairly cheap. Every music fan should have a copy of PET SOUNDS in their music library. It is a true masterpiece, and it is a rock 'n roll album quite unlike any other.
On a grading scale of M-, EX, VG+, VG, G, and P the condition of this album is as follows:
Cover = EX (as one can see in the photo below, the cover has some small soiling spots at the top, but it still looks very nice).
Disc = VG+ (plays well).
