Description
I’ve been an eBay member for over 17 years with over 1700 100% positive feedback. This is a relatively new account for music and memorabilia only.
Records are visually graded, but I do listen to intros for crackle and clarity, and play through any marks.
THE BEACH BOYS – SURFIN’ SAFARI – MONO – 1963 – VG
The beach boys first album issued in 1962 in the USA. This UK pressing dates from 1963, not a first pressing as that did not have sold in the UK text on the label, but still from the same year. Matrices T1 1808 1N and T2 1808 1N.
Looks great, still glossy. In a strong light there are a few very light sleeve marks and other surface marks. On side 2 there is a light scratch across the final track, which cannot be felt. I have played through it and could hear it faintly in the gap before the track started and then it was lost in the music. I've dropped the grade to VG because of this, otherwise it would be EX. There is also a scratch in the dead wax, but I can’t see that that matters.
Ultra-light surface noise during the run-ins and a nano-second hiss just before the music on side 1. Both sides play well, with occasional background crackle as to be expected with vintage vinyl and it sound great.
The cover is in remarkably good condition considering its age, slight bruising to the corners.
