This was the very first official release, being released on the 22nd of March 1963 (MONO version) and later on the 26th of April 1963 (STEREO version). The Lp reached number one in; Disc Weekly, Melody Maker,  New Musical Express and The Record Retailer in the UK. Only to be knocked off by their next album With The Beatles.

 Amazingly the songs, which were taken from their first two singles and included a further ten songs, were all recorded in one marathon session at Abbey Road Studios. John wasn't feeling too well and got throught the 3 sessions in the one day by having milk, tea and Zubes lozenges....

Gorgeous, heavy vinyl...Still has it's sheen.
CLEANED WITH Pro-Ject VCS MkII Vacuum Record cleaner.
SOUNDS GREAT
She does carry quite a few visible light marks. After playing the whole record all the way through, I found one tiny skip in the musical break down section of 'Boys'...Nothing terrible at all.
The album blasts out raw early Beatles with some occasional background noise in the quieter sections but not the run-ins. When the songs get going you don't really hear any-TURN HER UP!

FLAT, HEAVY, SHINY AND ALL ORIGINAL!


Labels:
VG+.
 There is minimal central hole wear, as seen in the pictures. With just light spindle marks visible when angled towards the light.
 Other than that the labels stand out nice and clean, with no writing or rips.
CORRECT 4th PRESS:
No "Recording First Published" text and no 33 1/3 next to the catalogue number at 9 O'Clock.
These labels are getting harder to find as only a relatively small amount were pressed....
**THEY ARE AS RARE AS THE BLACK & GOLD LABELS!!**
ONLY 25,000 ever pressed
 Outer rim text starts with "The Parlophone Co.Ltd"
NO "Sold in UK..."

It is the ORIGINAL USE EMITEX tracing paper-lined inner....She carries only very light creasing as well as a mouldy mildew to the edges....However she has...

RARER 1st PRINTING EJ DAY COVER
( These were produced at roughly a ratio of 1:10, compared to the usual Garrod & Lofthouse covers)
 There is some wear to this cover, with spidering areas to the laminate and some fingers of spidering eminating from the seams..
The corners have rubbing and knocking to them.
The EJ Day flipbacks have been taped to the top and bottom, but the spine remains perfectly intact
NO WRITING.

A very good filler.
