Description
This vintage record is a true historic gem for any fan of pop and beat music from the 1960s. Originally released on October 23, 1961, this 7" vinyl record features Tony Sheridan & The Beat Brothers (Beatles) and includes the German Intro track. The variant 1 record is a first commercial pressing with The Beatles and comes with its original factory sleeve.
This is the legendary recording that Raymond Jones supposedly went into NEMS Records in Liverpool and tried to buy. When Brian Epstein admitted he didn’t have it, he set about to find it. Turns out it was a German release! He purchased a few thousand, instantly getting Polydor’s attention. They rush rereleased it in January 1962, only this time as Tony Sheridan & The Beatles, and with an English intro. This record is the first release, from October 1961. As the worlds first commercial Beatles record, this item is a definite piece of rock music history!
The vinyl matrix number is K1 H/S. 2K1 H/S, and it has a catalog number of 24 673. This 63 year old mega-rare item is in very good plus (VG+) condition, with a paper sleeve and a sleeve grading of the same quality. It is a mono recording with a speed of 45 RPM and a run time of a single. This first edition, first pressing record is an import from Germany, with the machine stamped MADE IN GERMANY in the dead wax, and is a must-have for any collector of history making rock 'n' roll and vinyl records. I can’t stress how rare this is! It’s only going to go up in value.
