The Beatles 1962 - 1966
1973 UK EMI two stereo vinyl LP set housed in gatefold sleeve, PCSP 717.
Matrix Details:
1/ YEX 905 3 GMH HTM 3 2/ YEX 906-4 GAP HTM 3 3/ YEX 907-5 569 HTM 2 4/ 908-3 243 HTM 2 (then follows a "1" which has been crossed out)
The gatefold sleeve is fully glossed rather than laminated. The red lyric inner sleeves have all corners rounded and small thumb notches at top.
Vinyl visually glossy but close inspection reveals a number of sleeve removal type scuff marks. No deep marks or obviously visible scratches.
Plays superbly cleanly throughout. Many of the separators are silent and the tracks all play without any noticeablebackground noise. The exception, and a marginal one, is the quiet beginning and fade out of Michelle which has a very short burst of very low level crackle. This is not obtrusive. This pressing sounds really nice, very bright and punchy.
Labels are clean. There is a pressing fault to the second LP, where there is a very small dimple to the vinyl right next to the spindle hole. It is covered up by the label but on side three a small depression can be seen with a small raised area to the opposite side. This is very slight and does not affect the disc sitting falt on the turntable.
The inner sleeves are in great condition with no splits and no creasing or marks of note. There are just light traces of disc impression creasing.
External gatefold sleeve VG plus. The main panels are all clean and unmarked with just the lightest of hairline impressions to front and rear. The entry sides are showing a few gentle knocks but are still acceptably crisp and even. Minor creasing to top right front, fractionally so to rear in same area. Other small pinch line creases leading in from edge areas. Fractional tip wear without loss of shape. The spine has a single small white fold line running through centre but is otherwise still very presentable.
