This is an original first press from 1978. Pressed in limited numbers on red vinyl double LP of the original 1973 set
This pressing can be identified by the following traits:-

1) The gatefold sleeve is front & back laminated with the laminate spilling over to the bottom only of the inside of the gatefold
2). The correct catalogue no. "PCSPR 717" is on the rear top right. Presumably the "R" is for "RED".
If the catalogue no. is just "PCSP" then it is a non original taken from the normal black vinyl release and substituted.
3) The die-cut lyric inners have the G&L credit, rounded corners and 9 inch top notched openings.
4) Early HTM matrix marks in the dead wax.
5) The Apple labels have "Mfd in U.K" and "An Apple Record" and "An E.M.I. Recording"
6) Catalogue numbers "PCS 7171"/"PCS 7172" and "The Gramophone Company Limited"

The discs will be separated fom their inner sleeves and will be sent in NAGAOKA anti-static inners.
The sleeve will have a plastic sleeve and sent in custom made mailers with stiffener.

This pressing plays with superb audio across all sides and has been so well preserved down the years.
It can only have been played sparingly which is how it has retained its original sonic quality.
There is the JUST ONE dust static over the 4 sides of this set.and a non sounding non feelable hairline on side 3. Be aware.
No nasty pops, NO tics, NO repeats NO jumps.

The cover is in vg+ condition with no marks or writing on it. A small thumb crease on front. See photos.

The inner printed lyric sleeves are vg+ with no writing, no marks and a little bottom seam split on one of them.

The original owner has written her name on side 2 & 3 labels

As always I have played every track in full. I cannot emphasise enough just how strong and clear the audio is, the playback is stunning.
As stated in my introduction the previous owner really knew how to look after his LPs.

The labels are Near Mint (see photos for close ups).

• Records:- strict Record Collector gradings.


• NEAR MINT ~ visual inspection has revealed that the record plays noiselessly. If there are any surface marks these will be noted in the listing. 
• EXCELLENT ~ The record shows some signs of being played but there is very little lessening of the sound quality. There may be some light crackle but NO major problems like LOUD clicks. Occasional soft tics are acceptable. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
• VERY GOOD ~ The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality. despite noticeable surface and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items without any major defects is acceptable
