Description

The Beatles - 'Love Me Do / P.S. I Love You'. R 4949

The Beatles 1964 UK 3rd pressing of the 'Love Me Do / P.S. I Love You' 7" single. Originally released on the 5th October 1962, this 3rd issue NEVER re-entered the charts in 1964 making this one of the rarest and most desirable label variations of this single.

Released on the black Parlophone label both sides feature the 'Recording First Published 1962' text and the 'Sold in UK....' text. The rim print begins with 'The Parlophone Co. Ltd....' and is in both upper and lower case text. The 'KT' tax stamp is embossed to the a-side label. Both sides of the single have stampers ending in 1 denoting an early pressed issue of this rare label variation (see below for full matrix numbers). The single also has some unusual multiple tax codes printed within the run out area - KMPZT. The vinyl is housed within the original Parlophone Records company sleeve in particularly nice condition.

The Matrix numbers are:

Side 1. 7XCE 17144-1N 1 RL KMPZT

Side 2. 7XCE-17145-1N 1 RM KMPZT

The vinyl is in VERY GOOD condition.

Both labels are in EXCELLENT condition.

The sleeve is in EXCELLENT- condition.
