Another from my personal collection of many Beatles records that I have aquired over a period of more than 45 years! An awesome original  rare to find original 1965 release of The Beatles Third Chritmas Record. This is complete and with the original 1st UK printed MacNeil Press Ltd flipback cover. Normally this is found in a terrible state but this cover is superb with just minor storage wear only. The original news letter has some wear, a small tear at the top edge on the fold. The record plays through but with some interferance to be expected with these flimsy plastic novelty records for Beatles fan club members only.

Please note: I recorded this using my Garrard 401 turntable using a felt mat on the platter but I recommend that this type of record is played with a rubber mat to stop the sliding of this flimsy record.

The Record

Visually the record looks clean with just a couple of small imperfections and sleeve scuffs to mention. Note: I have not attempted to clean this record due to the nature of the way these flimsy records are made. The record has been stored in a case for the best part of 50 years and really were not designed to be played that much.

The Audio Quality

I play tested and recorded the record so it can be heard in the player above. There is interference noted in the form of background static crackle ticks and some pops. A lot of the crackle/interference would probably clean out and the correct mat used to play this on, but I have not attempted to do so. Please note: I recorded this using my Garrard 401 turntable using a felt mat on the platter but I recommend that this is played with a rubber mat to stop sliding of this flimsy type of record.

The labels

These are the original 1st issued labels! These are very clean indeed. See photos below. No spider trails and no nasty hand writing.

The Record Cover/Sleeve

1st UK issue MacNeil Press Ltd unlaminated flip back rear cover, is very clean for 54 years old. Nice and bright. Any yellowing/browning/fading on the cover you have to look to notice. Again the same with creases which are very minimal indeed. Overall any storage wear is minimal indeed.

I would grade the sleeve at least excellent to excellent plus in my opinion.

The Fan Club insert letter

The picture insert letter is complete but has a small tear at the top edge on the fold. Light creasing only. All text can be read.
