THE BEATLES - 1962-1966 UK Blue Album, Limited Blue Vinyl (1978) - 2LP - Apple Records PCSP 718
I bought this for my personal collection circa 1980. I kept it stored continuously in an outer plastic sleeve. The vinyl was never played (until just now when I tested a few tracks for condition.)
Per Discogs, this is the "Orlake Pressing" version of this release.
The Vinyl Matrix / Runouts:
- Side 1: YEX + 909 + PCS 7181 + A HTM
- Side 2: YEX + 910 + PCS 7181 + B OR Side 3: YEX + 911 + PCS 7182 + C HTM Side 4: YEX + 912 + PCS 7182 + D OR
I rate the cover jacket as Very Good+ overall. it has good gloss and looks very fine overall. It does have a few edge creases and some edge rough spots, primarily along the jacket opening side, but no ring wear or seam splits.
The paper sleeves look excellent, with exception of a creased corner in the upper right of the first sleeve.
The Vinyl LPs had never been played previously. With close examination, there are a few "smudge spots" and Side 2 has a couple of light surface scratches. (See the photos for examples.) I played Side 2 to check condition and it appears to play fine. Very little surface noise noticed in the silent areas between tracks.
I will put a new outer plastic sleeve of the album cover and I will place the vinyl LPs in new clear inner sleeves and include the original paper sleeves also when shipping.
Please see the photos. I am not a professional grader. I am using my best judgement per the Goldmine grading standards.
I will take extra care with packing and shipment. I will pack the LPs outside of the gatefold jacket to avoid any possible seam damage during shipment. I will pack securely and ship in a Whiplash LP mailer.
