Description
Audio Tape, Inc. from New Jersey decided to "produce" a greatest hits of Beatles songs up to 1972. Without any copyright license, the made three pressings of "volumes" called, Alpha and Omega (A to Z in Greek). The first volume of four records had a color cover, and many of those can be found. Copyright laws at that time were in kind of a gray zone for music. Anyhow, the Beatles sued, and won. No more were printed. They issued another volume set, Volume 2, that has a different track listing than the one you see here. This is the "third" Volume 2 set of four records, and rarer. Same set list of the first Volume 2, just in different orders and such. The Beatles did "officially" respond with the famous blue and red volumes we all know (from the article, 'What A Thing to Do: The Alpha Omega Incident'). A must for die hard collectors.
Records are all playable and nice. Very good condition!
Cover has damage splits on corners shown. But, can be taped.
Sleeves are white with center whole and all match, which means to me that they are original. These sets did not have any artwork originally.
