This is the 1978 French White Vinyl Pressing (See Discogs).

Issued in a double-pocket gatefold sleeve. Cover is a marbled off-white color, with "The Beatles" raised-embossed on the front. It is not serial numbered.  A 3.25 inch diameter Apple sticker with an off-white marbled look is pasted permanently onto the upper-right front jacket corner. It reads, "The Beatles, Disques en Pâte Blanche, Tirage Limité."  Jacket has "The BEATLES" and "SMO 2051/2" on the outside spine and "2 x Y," "SMO 2051/2," and "P 1968" on the back cover. The inside jacket says, "Fabrique et publie en France par PATHE MARCONI EMI, Reedition de 1978." "Made in France" is printed near the inside jacket spine. Included are four 8x12 inch glossy pictures of each Beatle and a six-11x11inch-panel (folded) fold-out photo collage with song lyrics on the poster backside. The poster says: "Printed and made in Great Britain by Garrod and Lofthouse International Ltd."  The Apple record labels are: "SMO 2051" and "SMO 2052."

This album is extremely difficult to find in this nice, virtually unused condition.  The set's nice condition is evident in the photos.  I bought it in 1978 (see original store sticker), and I only played it once on my high-end turntable/cartridge to record it to cassette.  I immediately placed it in dry, smoke-free storage, where it has remained for 45 years!  The album has remained inside its original loose cellophane outer-wrap, opened at the slot, and inside the original 1978 "Recordland" store bag for 45 years, so it shows minimal wear. For this listing's photographs, I did not clean the LPs or wipe off static dust.  Since I have no way of playing the records, I cannot make any statements concerning current sound quality.  Visually I saw no scratches, scuffs, or warpage of the vinyl.  By the looks of the vinyl, I would expect the records to sound excellent, but obviously I can't guarantee that.* The buyer may want to consult a record expert/collector familiar with how records age when stored in their original packaging (same as still-sealed copies), if that is a concern. The records and labels are very clean as expected. 

The gatefold record jacket is made of a semi-gloss cardboard stock. The outer cellophane wrap with original stickers is easily removed and replaced. I slipped it off for photography, but it can be easily slid back on for display if desired. The photos and posters were also never used, so they are in excellent shape. To photograph the poster, I did not completely unfold it in order to preserve its condition. From a dry smoke free environment.

PACKING:

This item is already packed for prompt shipment via UPS in accordance with this listing (see photos). The records are placed in brand-new MoFi Original Master anti-static sleeves-- separate from the original record sleeves and album jacket. The contents are double-protected inside new transparent outer sleeves within the album shipping box, which is sealed inside a plastic bag. This interior record shipping box is then double-boxed in a larger outer box with packing peanuts. The outer box is reinforced with fiberglass and brown shipping tape. Note: To protect the contents, please be careful when removing from the packaging.

SHIPPING:

Ships to US Customers only (48 contiguous states only & no PO Boxes) via UPS Ground or UPS Expedited services, which are the most reliable services from my location.  No other shipping options, locations, or changes are offered (see "IMPORTANT CHANGES/PACKING/SHIPPING NOTE" note below). USPS services, including Media Mail, and FEDEX services are not offered. They have unfortunately proven to be unreliable in my area. I realize that the shipping cost can be a significant portion of the final cost, especially for long distances, so I ask that buyers consider the sum total of all charges as the "final cost" when bidding. The buyer is responsible to pay the eBay-calculated charges shown at purchase for the chosen UPS service. I do not intend to reopen or re-do any packaging. If any change to existing packaging or a different shipping address is requested by a winning bidder (including places UPS does not deliver), without having cleared it with me in advance, I will have to charge a $25 repackaging fee, the difference in postage, and 2-days of additional repackaging time before I can ship the item.
