Hello there! Many thanks for perousing my items! When you've looked here, you might like to check out some of my other items, I have some other very rare Beatles etc. items currently listed with many more to come, heck, I'd even suggest you add me to your favourite sellers to keep on top of all the goodies that I'm going to list over the coming months!
I have collected records since I was very young, however Iincreasingly I have realised that I have far too many, and soI have been slowly trying to rationalise my extensive collection over the years, I have sold many major rarities over the years, from major BEATLES and 60s rarities, through PUNK and PROG ROCK, CLASSICAL and BLUES. Basically I've had alot of very rare records and in dribs and drabs have sold them off. I've never had negative feedback, and had many repeat customers. I will only post completely insured and tracked.
This week I'm selling most of the Beatles Christmas FanClub Flexi Discs in various conditions, but all sought after! Here we have the extremely rare 1st UK xmas flexi disc from The Beatles from 1963, it ran at 45 RPM and was entitled "THE BEATLES CHRISTMAS RECORD", little did they know that they'd around for many more! It involves Christmas messages and high jinx between the guys, along with a few christmas Carols being sung etc, and it really is a heart-warming insight into the fun that four friends were having as they rode their meteroric rise to fame! Really is a lovely slice of Beatle life that you don't get as much from their more conventional record! There were only 30,000 of these produced (perhaps that would sound like alot, but seing as what the Beatles were to become, this really is one of their rarities, and so many have not survived through time!), the first half of them were released with sleeves, but as their fledgling FanClub had been taken completely by surprise by how many new subscriptions there were to only their second newsletter that came as a cover for the first run of these, they released a second run without sleeves. I am not claiming that this is one of these, as it could just as easily be one of the original ones which has lost it's sleeve, but either way, here is their very first Christmas Flexi Disc, released at a time when their FanClub had very few members compared to what they would have in the future! This was recorded during the recording session of "I Want To Hold Your Hand" that would be arguably the song that made them an international household name, and their excitement in their chatter on this disc shows!
All of the Beatles UK Fan Club Christmas Flexi Discs are highly sought after, but the first year's one is particularly sought after!
RECORD CONDITION: VG, This record is in really nice condition, it has a slight fold on the playing surface at 9 o'clock, as people often say about these, they are very temperamental to tone arm weight, otherwise they can skip or sound poor, conversely a very heavy tone arm on this record I did find it could skip on one of my systems, but a standard or light armplayed through fine. Whilst audio on LYNTONE Flexi Discs was never perfect, this has strong audio throughout! Strangely for a single sided Flexi Disc, this has a matrix code stamped into both sides of the Deadwax!
RECORD LABELS: VG, as with some of the sleeves, the labels could sometimes be a little over-zealous-ly stuck on, and this is one of those. So much glue has been used in the factory, that it has started to come-through and yellow off the original white of the label. Also the original owner has filled in a few of the loops of the text, and given a subtle "candy-stripe" effect to the words "Fan Club", but they have at least been considerate enough to match the colour of ink almost perfectly!
These records were only pressed on one side, and run at 33 1/3 RPM
